Expressive Wisdom Workshop

Overcome fears and doubts, and connect to your inner wisdom in a daylong intimate painting retreat with Alisha.

Does the idea of painting on a big canvas simultaneously excite you and terrify you at the same time?

Through the act of painting, you are forced to confront various fears that represent fears and blocks that keep us out of action or staying stuck in our everyday life, such as:

  1. Fear of the blank page: The initial intimidation of facing an empty canvas and not knowing where to begin. Where in life are perfectionism and fear of failure holding you back?

  2. Fear of wasting paint: Concerns about using materials inefficiently or not achieving the desired outcome. Where in your life do you operate from a place of lack?

  3. Fear of painting over something you like: Hesitation to make important changes or corrections to the artwork, even if it may improve the overall piece. Where in your life do you experience a lack of faith and trust in yourself?

  4. Fear of judgment: Worries about how others will perceive the finished artwork and the fear of criticism or rejection. How often does the feeling of unworthiness, and imposter complex show up for you? Do you ever find yourself asking the question, "just who do you think you are"?

  5. Fear of getting messy or letting your painting look messy: Afraid of embracing the messiness of the creative process, fearing that imperfections in the artwork might reflect inadequacy or lack of skill. Needing to look good at all costs in your daily life leads you not to get outside of your comfort zone, make changes, or take necessary risks.

  6. Imposter Complex: Doubts about your abilities and feelings of not belonging in the realm of painters. Where in life do you believe you don’t fit in, where do you live in fear that "they" are going to find you out?

By overcoming these fears through the process of painting, you not only create tangible expressions of your intentions but also develop resilience, confidence, and a sense of ownership over your creative journey. Painting becomes a transformative practice that empowers you to embrace your creativity, confront your fears, and assert your presence in the world.
