Americans have so much freedom when they decide to get an education.
Never wanted to be a dr. that was my parent’s dream
Lawyers were never looked upon favorably in India
In India, you can’t have a passion to do something and just do it.
Mother only had a 3rd grade education
Was encouraged by husband to explore jewelry
I had a desire and passion inside of me that I decided to do something about it.
I did it, I explored my passion.
Designs are timeless
What I’m making is every day’s big thing
Jewelry is timeless and will be passed down
Career as lawyer prepared her to start her own business a lot.
We have a fear that we are doing isn’t good enough
We and society create walls for us. I built a wall for myself and I held me back.
Process of creating: Meditate and an idea will come to me in my minds eye
You should just wear your jewelry and it shouldn’t be something that gets in the way.
Empowered women don’t need help to put their jewelry on.
You have to be able to put things on and then forget about them, or it gets in the way of you becoming the amazing you that you’re destined to be.
Not a bench jewelry, primarily a designer
Education gave me the courage to try some of these things
A giving component to the company
10% of every sale goes to girls education
Learn that you should live your life and you should try it.
Even if I’m naturally gifted at something I can still work on it and I should.
