There’s been a lot of life between podcasts
Have to have coaches
If you’re helping without getting helped you’re pouring out too much
I hired Katie to help me nail down my 5 words.
Katie helped me take an idea and hone into what I was trying to say.
Katie is a word alchemist
It’s important to hire coaches
Katie’s first company was creative machine consulting
Abra Cadabra translated is “we create as we speak”
Katie’s rebrand is Communication X

Failure is the captain of the team of presentations
It’s not really interesting to me if you can do a presentation perfectly.
Perfection doesn’t attract us the way we think it does.
If we let failure come in who cares, hold it lightly.
If let myself mess up everything is going to work out.
The end goal is how can I do something that will be helpful to others.

Katie’s tea ceremony with failure.
Awareness is the first step.  Acceptance is the first step
Imagine yourself completely failing
Meet failure like a friend
A lot of the things that make us bad speakers is just our fight or flight system.
The fear of public presentation is the fear of losing everything that’s important to me.
Can I use something from the stories you share.
Your public speaking fear peaks in the first 90 seconds
All the stuff that makes us bad isn’t real it’s just your body trying to help you.
Nancy Duart
Your public speaking isn’t about you, it’s about “how can you be helpful”
Everything comes back to transending the ego
In public speaking, you have to meet all of the parts of yourself.
You have to meet yourself at your most anxious, mentally emotionally.
Sometimes you hit a wrong note and you don’t even know.
A question that a lot of us could ask: Who am I performing for?
