Ok of the 9 TEDx conferences I’ve applied to, I just got my first rejection.

And it doesn’t feel good. I’m processing out loud with y’all here in real-time. It does feel like a kick in the gut even though I know it’s a part of the process. I’m also talking about how failure is a part of distilling down to the true essence of things.

I have 25 interviews scheduled to talk with people about the topic of failure. Today I got to speak with Abigail Dowd on what she believes failure is and her process of honoring failure. Yesterday I emailed about 44 people to see if I can interview them on failure. Less than 24 hours later I’ve got 16 interviews on the calendar over the next 3 months. I promise I’ll take you all along for the ride with me.

I got an email this weekend about someone sharing they have a story about failure and they still made a point to tell me it wasn’t a failure because they learned something. I think that misses the point... I say why in this video.
