Sharon Larson: Watercolor artist: Learn more Here: https://www.slarsonwatercolors.com/

Lives in Iowa on a hobby farm

Stay at home mom who found art

Loves teaching watercolor

No matter how long they’ve been painting I never feel good enough

I just become accustom to feeling a little uneasy or a little unsure and just keep going anyway.

Fear that I’m going to lose my talent.

We let the magic unfold

With watercolor you can’t control how the paper absorbs the water or where the color is going to go.

There is something to be said for being a little ignorant

“The beginners mind has the best insights” because we are so curious about what we are doing and we have low expectations.

The Paper knows what it wants to be

Give up the agenda and the plan

Everyone has their shit, but your shit has a purpose

A beautiful picture has lots of contrast

If you fill up all the white space in your life it’s a muddled mess

When you realize it’s ok to let go and let whatever happen happens

Choosing process over outcome

What we put out into the world might evoke feeling

Art is subjective

Our job is only to create because we have to

If you can create something out of nothing that’s creative

How to tap into creativity when we’re not felling creative?  “do it, do it, do it, do it”

Do something because it’s crazy how one act leads to another.

Nothing is stupid

If you have the idea do it

If you can let it out

Painting for Sharon is the equivalent of human touch.

If you take creativity out of life, what’s the point?

Even RAW is part of an artist’s job

Not just a vision board but a vision wall

You don’t have to be a story to be amazing
