6 Ways To Celebrate Today's Spring Equinox
6 Ways To Celebrate Today's Spring Equinox
Happy Spring! Today is also called Ostara, the spring equinox and to mark this passage of time and seasons I've been preparing. Here are 6 easy rituals you can do today to celebrate the spring equinox
Create a little altar: Think about the colors of springs you love. Think about what elements are present in the spring. Think about what represents spring to you. Add those pieces to a dedicated alter space in your home. Think about what you want to welcome into your life and add it to your alter. (I refresh my alter with each season)
Journal: Take time to spot, slow down, put pen to paper. Pause and really reflect on where you are in life and spend some time thinking about where you want to be. Are you on track or is there a big gap?
Prepare to GROW: Do you plant a garden? pull the weeds, add compost or new soil, thinking about what seeds you could start from scratch
Get Outside: Go outside for an intentional walk, if you can even if it's cold do a little earthing, maybe take your shoes off and feel the earth under your feet.
Leave a little offering: pour a little coffee onto the ground, or spread a little birdseed, leave something to show gratitude for mother earth.
Meditate in the sunshine: Dress as warmly as you need to and go sit outside and meditate. Notice the sights, sounds, smells, and energy around you. What is present, what is blooming, sit with it and let something begin to bloom in you.
This is the time of renewal for the Northern hemisphere, but as we mark the passage of time there couldn't be a better time to look at where we are and be deliberate about what weeds we pull and what seeds we are planting. What personal renewal would you like to have in your life? In order to get there, you must prepare the soil.
It might have been a while since you've allowed yourself to create a big personal vision for the life you want to live.
Have you ever allowed yourself to create a big vision for yourself?
Let's clean out the personal alters of lives, of our dreams. Let's weed the gardens of our souls and make sure we're on track for what we came here to do. We must wake up and be intentional about the life we are living because these lives are short.
